Spa 1001 Step by Step

Spa 1001 Step by Step

The step-by-step plan is a recommendation to achieve the desired effect during and after your spa visit.

Strict adherence to this plan is not mandatory but highly recommended. If you deviate from the time limits or (cooling-off) methods, heat buildup in your body may occur, which could cause dizziness or even fainting.

The use of bath slippers is mandatory.
It is also recommended to use the restroom before your spa visit.

Step 1 | Shower

Strictly following this plan is not mandatory, but it is recommended. If you deviate from the time limits and (cooling) methods, heat buildup in your body may occur, which could lead to dizziness or even feeling unwell.

Step 1.2 Spa 1001 Almere | Saltwater Pool (10 minutes)

Swimming warms up your muscles and joints gradually and stimulates blood circulation. Your muscles will become warm, properly preparing your body for the Finnish sauna or Turkish steam bath. End the swimming ritual with a brief shower.

Step 2 | Drying Off

This step is necessary to allow the hot air in the sauna to reach your skin. Entering the cabin while still wet will prevent sweating and the cleansing of your pores. It is also not pleasant for you and your company if the benches become wet.

Step 3 | Sauna or Steam Room (6 – 20 minutes)

Keep your flip-flops outside the cabins.

Due to the heat of the benches (and hygiene reasons), you should sit on your towel in the sauna. Whether sitting or lying down, make sure your feet are at the same level as your hips, so your body warms up more evenly. The higher you sit, the hotter it will be.

The minimum sauna duration is 6 minutes to open the pores and activate the sweat glands. Below 6 minutes, there is a small chance of heat stress because the body has not yet had time to release the absorbed heat.

The maximum recommended time is 15 minutes.

In the last 2 minutes, it is best to adopt a seated position so you do not feel dizzy when leaving the sauna.
It is recommended to stay in the steam room for at least 10 minutes and up to a maximum of 20 minutes to achieve the desired effect.

The effect of the steam room can be compared to that of the sauna. However, the temperature in

Step 4 | Cold Rinse

Pay attention to your breathing and ensure your lungs get enough oxygen.
After the steam bath, it is best to take a cold shower, starting from your left foot and slowly working your way up. It is very important to cool down properly!

Step 5 | Hot Tub (10 – 20 minutes)

End with some relaxation in the hot tub. The cooled body is gradually brought back to temperature.

If you start sweating again while in the hot tub, it is important to repeat Step 5, followed by Step 6, to avoid potential heat stress.
